- Get onto highway 80 heading northwest, then after 1.3 miles, exit and turn right at the Applebee’s. We’re in their parking lot at 108 E US HIGHWAY 80 STE 190.
- If you’d rather avoid the highway, get onto Main St heading west. Take the first right onto Chestnut St, then left onto Broad St. After it starts curving to the right, turn right onto Pinson Rd. After the highway overpass, turn right, then left between the Taco Bell and the 7-Eleven, past the McDonald’s, around the Bearded Monkey, and into our parking lot.

Forney, TX, lies twenty-three miles east of Dallas in northwestern Kaufman County. The earliest settlers arrived, established a community in this area, and called their town Brooklyn because several springs flowed together to form a nearby brook. Soon after, the residents opened a general store, a saloon, and a blacksmith shop.
In 1873, when the citizens applied for a post office, they discovered another town named Brooklyn in Shelby County. In honor of a newly built railroad and hoping to get federal approval for a local post office, the residents renamed their town, Forney after John Wien Forney. The town was officially incorporated in 1884.
The railroad and fertile soil attracted settlers, and the town slowly grew as a farm center and residential community. By 1960 the population had increased to more than 3,000 residents. The surrounding land was used as ranchland and for producing cotton, corn, grain, and onions.
