Lauren: If you snore, if you have excessive daytime sleepiness, which means you feel like you need to drink coffee, you need to take some sort of medication to keep you awake during the day, especially during the afternoon, if you feel like you need to get help going to sleep or staying asleep at night, if you take medication for high blood pressure, then you may be at risk for obstructive sleep apnea. And Dr. Cozby's going to want to do an airway evaluation on you to assess your risk, which just means that we want to see, do you have your tonsils, do you have maybe an elongated soft palate, do you have maybe just anatomy that's putting you more at risk within your airway. A lot of your physicians or your primary care physicians, they're not going to know to look in your airway unless you have an infection associated with your throat. They're not going to understand that maybe your oxygen levels go down to a really devastating state at night because you're awake. You're fine. You come in for your one symptom, and they treat you and you go home. Dr. Cozby is a dentist. She's going to be in your mouth no matter what. With that, she's going to want to evaluate your airway and associate the risks associated with obstructive sleep apnea. Dr. Cozby: If you are looking for a high-quality, family-oriented dental practice, please give us a call today.
